My Playing 10 plus 1 ???
Guys,
I think India’s team needs to undergo certain changes… dropping Sehwag is becoming a must but if at all we keep him it must be more for his all round skills than as an opener. He bowls as good as Bhajji and if he bats lower down the order he can be more useful than a specialist bowler.
Pathan is a must now in my team . He might not bowl better than Zaheer and Patel but he would just be marginally worse than Bhajji and Agarkar yet providing us with batting option.
We have been losing more because of batting failures so I want a team packed with batsmen and allrounder with just 4 specialist bowlers…not five…
I have worked out 10 names.. but am a undecided about the 11th player… Maybe you guys can help me out..
My team in the order is…
1) Uthappa
2) Ganguly
3) Dravid
4) Yuvi
5) Tendulkar
6) Dhoni
7) Karthik
8) Pathan
9) Zaheer
10) Patel
For the 11th spot… one out of the 3… Sehwag / Kumble/ Agarkar
At the moment I am a bit tilted towards Sehwag because if he bats down the order ( at # 6, pushing Dhoni to # 7) with such a batting line up.. it wont be too bad. The problem lies with him opening the innings.. because when he gets out in the first 2-3 overs the whole team suffers..Tendulkar becomes too circumspect trying to consolidate the innings and the run rate during the power play drops to 3 per over. I guess he has just lost the temprament to bat at # 3 .. specially after the fall of an early wicket.
India played 125 dot balls by the 25th over and a total of 199 in their entire innings against B’desh. If 30 of those 125 dot balls early on were converted to singles.. we wudnt have had to wilt under pressure towards the end losing 5 wkts in 15 balls and could have scored 20 more runs. Add 55 more to the score and we would have had at least 250 to defend.

I am 200% Agree with Mr. Kazim. I would Like to add Kumble to make his 11.

I AM FULLY AGREED WITH MR.KAZIM.KUMBLE SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN TODAY’S MATCH AND ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO ADD SREESANTH IN MY PLAYING 11.

JK, I will not disagree with you as a specialist spinner is surely required on these pitches… with Kartik and Pathan we already have 2 extra batsmen..So Kumble will be all right..
