Latest cricket rumblings..

After lamenting the loss of the test series in south africa, India embark on a challenging one-day series at home against the west-indies starting tomorrow. Given the form they are in, it would cause me less pain to see them falter occassionally, although the “mouse has the tendency to feel like a lion at home”. Literally.

In other new, the aussies continue to beat the hell out of england in both the short versions of the game and their recent chase of 155 was an exciting game where the cool hussey pulled off another miracle, but not without a horrendous decision which saw him at the crease after a “nick” to the keeper. Hussey said. “I take the good decisions with the bad. I just leave it up to the umpires to make the decision.”
Oh Yeah! Where did the gentlemen from the game dissapear ?

South africa 1-0 up in the recent test series against pakistan began the second test and could not cope with the comeback of the paki speedster shoiab akhtar, were bundled out for 124. They struck back similarly and had pakistan reeling at 135-6 with Inzamam bizzarely enough not yet in to bat. Pakistan, like their continental counterparts have a tendency to lose matches they seem to be winning. Once again, i won’t be surprised if they make a Big mess here.

With the world cup around the corner, its time for teams to pull up their socks and revitalise themselves for the ultimate showdown. For us fans, we are only looking for a few simple elements from the game. Thrill, excitement and surprises. For the past 3 -4 months I had none of it from the game.
