The BCCI has announced the Indian squad for the forthcoming World Cup in the West Indies.

There are no huge surprises in the 15-man squad, which is the same as the team that was selected for the first two ODIs in the ongoing series against Sri Lanka.

The National Selection Committee along with skipper Rahul Dravid and coach Greg Chappell met in Mumbai on Monday to choose the 15-man Indian squad for the quadrennial extravaganza.

As expected they decided to value experience over current form notably Virendra Sehwag, Irfan Pathan and Sourav Ganguly.

The team will assemble in Mumbai on the February 26 and will leave for the West Indies on February 28.

India will play two warm-up matches before its first group game against Bangladesh on March 17 at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain.

The other two teams in India’s group are Sri Lanka and Bermuda.

India’s WC Squad: Rahul Dravid (captain), Robin Uthappa, Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel, Anil Kumble, Ajit Agarkar, Irfan Pathan, S Sreesanth, Dinesh Karthick.
