If too much cricket is a curse for India ?
Yes,I do feel that too much cricket is hampering India as well as the game.
Cricket is more of like becoming show stopper in India. When it is Cricket season nothing else runs in India else cricket.
In India as compared to all other developed or devloping countries we have maximum number of public holidays so economy is at halt for those public hoildays and then you add cricket ODI's or Test matches' days. So this has become curse to Indian economy.Yes its fine that we enjoy the game but we should do this at the cost of our country.

I think that curse is a strong word here. cricket is a favorite sport for many people in India and a passion because its about competetion, about winning and losing and like any other game you have great supporters and enthusiaists of the game. Business goes on along with the game and i believe that one needs a vehicle to go through the daily grinds of life. cricket for me, is a boon!
No doubt that politics, religion and vandalism should be out of the game.

Yes dear Altaf I do agree with you that “one needs a vehicle to go through the daily grinds of life” but you see this vehicle stops the Indian ecomony vehicle for atleast one(or five days for test matches).
You seriously tell me when we have a match if you are really able to concentrate on your work.Suprisingly you could be but there are n+1 Indians they don’t do anything but eat, drink, sleep and even dream cricket.
What I have learnt from my past that excess of everthing is bad and that’s what is happening to India.
Cricket and that too in excess.
We can have simple stastics.
We have got 365 days in an year.
subtract sundays frim this
365-52= 313.
subtract public holidays from it(gazetted)
313-27= 286
subtract number of ODIs India play in an year
286-40(this is kind of average)=246
India plays on average 12 Tests in an year , this means 12*5 = 60.
So figure is
246-60=186.
And just like cricket I will give benefit of doubt and will make it 200 instead of 365.
Now one can compare that as compared to any other devolped country how much India/Indians are doing for the development of their country.
