Aussies downhill! surprise surprise..

Ross TaylorGlenn McgrathShaun pollockAfter a shocking finals defeat against arch rivals england in the CB series home, Australia countinue their downhill journey by losing the first 2 matches of the hadlee-chappel series against the kiwis. Both matches were Huge. New zealand scored a 10 wicket win over australia in the first one after bond help bowled aussies out for 148. Tsk Tsk. The aussie body language said it all!
The second match was even more amazing where the kiwis chased a impressive 337 with a over still to go in the match. Given Australia are missing their stars due to injury and more importantly their captain in few of these matches, they have a incredibly challenging task of regaining their confidence and also getting their team upto full strength on the eve of the world cup next month. Is this the beggining of the end ? Will symonds, Lee and ponting make a comeback to lift their team and their morale at this critical juncture? i believe so, but its not going to be easy.

South africa on the other hand thrashed pakistan in the one-day series (3-1)and thus have claimed the No 1 spot as the best ODI team. While australia’s lacklustre performance means their ratings have slipped, New zealand are also creeping up in the rankings. Which makes me wonder, will any of the asian teams make it to the last 4 in the world cup ?
