Asif and Shoaib Akhtar sent home
As if the Oval debacle, the captaincy changes and the resigning of the PCB chariman was not enough the pakistan team was jolted once again at the last minute when the anti-doping tests of their strike bowlers came postive. The reaction was swift and both Shoaib akhtar and asif were sent back home and will not play in the champions trophy. Did they not know that they were taking the banned substance nandrolone, even for injury treatment? In the professional world of doctors and atheletes it this not something which cannot be done without awareness and consent? if this was mere carelessness then I say it deserves some form of punishment. Pakistan pulled off a sensational victory over srilanka earlier without their strike bowlers. the question is will they be able to sustain this in the upcoming matches. Will the carelessness of their strike bowlers cost them the ICC champions trophy? what do you think?

I Think that in the world of sports no sportsman would risk taking medicines for injury without consulting the doctors or physio to check whether the medicines contains any banned substances. Hence I think shoiab and asif had taken banned substances on purpose thinking they would escape undetected. The last thing pakistan would have wanted was to see two of its main fast bowlers being sent off in this fashion. It is highly irresponsible of quality bowlers like asif and akhtar to have done this.
