One more to Win for the finals..
India put an end to their losing streak in a low scoring match with the west indies at the kinrara oval yesterday. After scoring only a mere 162 in 39.3 overs, the west indies innings featured a familiar middle order collapse with only brian lara scoring a brave 40 not out in an attempt to bring them close to the scent of victory. Both sides had their own worries in the batting department with Dravid and Yuvraj both flopping for India again. Tendulkar stood strong with a well composed 65 and Bhaji gave him ample support for his well deserved 37. With 162 runs on the board, I for one did not expect India to win and was dissapointed to the point where i stopped following the match for a while. Later, when a friend called me with the news that West indies were 80-6 my eyes sparked with excitement and i too could sense a close finish and smell my optimism regaining it's lost scent. I watched the final 15 overs on television and enjoyed the last few overs where India strangulated the west indies all out for for 146.Bhaji deserved his man of the match award as he backed his batting performance with a couple of wickets at crucial junctures. Now only if we could repeat this performance on friday, that would be a better than a douple scoop chocolate icecream! India, can i have one ?
